Sussex Connections Concert

Details of the second Bexhill Sinfonietta concert

Sussex Connections Concert

5th June - 7.30pm - 2022 - The Izzard Theatre, Bexhill

The Bexhill Sinfonietta presented its 2022 Summer Concert at the IZZARD THEATRE in Bexhill

The theme for the evening was Sussex with music either written by composers who were born or lived in Sussex or others who have written pieces about places in the county.

Jada Marsh was our featured young soloist who gave a remarkable performance of ‘The Lark Ascending’ by Vaughan Williams. Schooled locally and now studying in London, she is fast making a name for herself both for her virtuosity and versatility.

The Bexhill Jubilee Overture by Peter Lapham was given its premiere performance alongside Ecclesbourne Glen by Paul Lewis and Ann Garland by Kenneth Roberts.

Other well-loved music included ‘The Banks of Green Willow’ by George Butterworth and ‘Where the Rainbow Ends’ by Roger Quilter as well as ‘The Sleepy Lagoon’ by Eric Coates.
